"Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind and with all your strength."
"Love your neighbor as yourself."
"Love your enemies."
"Do to others as you would have them do to you."
These are some of Jesus' most famous sayings and most impactful. However, by volume, Jesus talked less about love, mercy, and service to others than you might think. As a result, these topics comprise the #6 segment of the Top 11 Themes of Jesus podcast series.
Because these are such famous sayings, I do a deeper dive on them in the podcast to describe their impact. For example, I'll discuss my view that the Golden Rule ("Do to others...") sets for Christians the highest ethical standard of any religion. We have a lot to live up to!
In the second half of the podcast, I'll be joined by Kay Hall, who shared her post-abortion journey to mercy and grace in a book and movie. Through Kay Hall Ministries, she now offers the same story of mercy as she serves women who are going through the same journey. Kay's recommended model of forgiveness, mercy, and redemption is a solid one that applies to anyone who regrets something they've done and seeks restoration from the Lord.
